Marian University of Wisconsin celebrated the completion of their new, state-of-the-art nursing space in Stayer Hall—ahead of schedule—with a ribbon cutting ceremony on December 15.
“The new nursing space is gorgeous,” said Michelle Majewski, President of Marian University. “If you want to be a nurse or nurse leader, Marian is the place to be.” Marian’s Nursing program will occupy the first and second floors of the Stayer Center and include new, state-of-the-art simulation labs, observation rooms, skills labs for practicing more advanced nursing skills, health assessment training spaces, exam rooms, classrooms, as well as study areas for students and spaces for gathering and collaborating.
The renovation was done by C.D. Smith Construction. The previous nursing space location was Marian’s Center for Health Professions in downtown Fond du Lac. “This move will be a significant convenience for nursing students, because it puts them just steps away from the Ridenour Science Center, where they have many of their core-curricular science courses,” said Cheryl Seelig, Marian’s program director for Nursing. “This helps us focus even more on providing students with a high-quality education in one place.”
Marian University, which has been training nurses and nurse leaders for almost sixty years, has one of the highest NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) passing rates in the state of Wisconsin at 96.77 percent. Marian’s Nursing program offers:

Marian University has been training nurses and nursing leaders for almost sixty years. But the CSA Sisters’ history with nursing education goes back further, with the founding of the St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in Fond du Lac in 1910. Marian University, founded as Marian College in 1936, first offered its Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1964. Two years later, the St. Agnes School merged with Marian.
