How WAICU Helps

Support advocacy efforts

WAICU’s research staff collects, aggregates, analyzes, monitors, and researches data on educational issues so information is available to support our advocacy efforts on behalf of WAICU-member colleges and their students.  WAICU works with many at the state capitol and in Washington, D.C., and having current, relevant information about WAICU colleges and universities and their students bolsters our efforts to articulate the success, effectiveness, and diversity of its members.

Coordinate filings/quality review

WAICU coordinates various filings (see the Research Services page) required at both the state and federal levels to assist its members with filing requirements and meeting deadlines. We use that data to present facts about WAICU and the nonprofit college experience in Wisconsin.  We compare our results to other Wisconsin colleges and beyond.  WAICU seeks to help its members, and we value their input to strengthen our story and our arguments when interacting with policy makers. We provide additional review aimed at enhanced accuracy.

Protect student privacy and sensitive data

WAICU takes student privacy rights seriously and gives primacy to protecting students in our research efforts.  We also respect member colleges' and universities' need for appropriate treatment of sensitive data.  WAICU uses data primarily in aggregate both to protect privacy and to facilitate meaningful sector-level analysis.
